Craft Beer

Had a quick pint of Fleek after work in the Steps in Washington.....£3.50....had to ask her if she had made a mistake!

Know it's a very middle of the road by comparison to loads of the beers here but I really like Sam Adams Boston Lager and it's impossible to get now. Even Brooklyn Lager is only available online now and it's not as nice out the bottle IMO.

Any tips for a decent US-style brown ale?

Seen the liaison group meetings?

  • DB reported that the introduction of the exclusive Vaux Roker Roar beer has been a success, outselling the previous beer by five to one.

Some going that like. Well done to the lads, they’ve put some f***ing effort in.

Ironic given everything else they do is so much better as well. Roker Roar, the one I had anyway, reminded me of a worse Neck Oil.
Aye. Thats what I meant. It’d be tremendous I reckon.

Not sure this is necessary, but I'd advise against drinking two pints of it in 45 minutes.

Yeah can't imagine it would be anything special but definitely miles better than anything else you can get in most football grounds

Apparently the latest batch is an improvement.

*disclaimer* this is all me speculating, and nowt else.

I guess you were never going to see a really hop heavy (expensive) beer for mass consumption at the club. I was initially disappointed with it, but the more you think about it, the more it makes sense.

It’s a relatively light, easy drinking beer and it’s going to appeal to a much much wider audience and be at a much more attractive price point than say “v” which I guess would just be simply unfeasible at the price point the club and Vaux could agree on. It would have been mint mind 😎

As it happens, I’ve now had it a few times at the match, and I’m quite fond of it. It’s way better than any of the other shit that’s peddled there, and for the first time in years, I actually *want* to buy a pint at the match.

First pint I bought of it was 100% shit lager mind. The bairn serving it mixed it up. I was gutted at the time cos I thought it was an absolute stinker of a beer !

Remember the scene in Trainspotting when Spug goes to his interview. 😎

3.75 at Morrisons for an 8% stout. Might be shite but worth a go at that price.

4 for 3 deal on at the minute too
I’ll give it a go, but I’m guessing it’ll be overly sweet & synthetic tasting. The new Brewdog Rocky Road was canny shite.

Sainsburys have got a couple of new ones in too. A peanut butter & jelly stout, which sounds shite, but a one I’ve had before was decent enough. That might have been Northern Monk actually.
