Craft Beer

It's brewed to be enjoyed, if it tasted good drink it. I had some cracking pints of real ale over the weekend, but also one or two pretty bland ones. I am sure if I worked on it I would enjoy some of the craft beers. To coin s phrase, what a time to be alive! When I was a learner drinker, it was pretty much Ex, Scotch or McEwans lager. Newcastle Bright and then Becks appeared and then some trendy stuff called Grolsch. Real ale was a dying drink.
 

Been drinking a canny bit of punk ipa recently, anything with citrus/grapefruit notes. Tried a one called wold gold which was similar. Very nice tipple

I've got a beers of the world book which has spaces to make notes and rate beers. Will have to dig it out and start trying to find them all.

It's natural citrus notes from the hops, which are a traditional beer ingredient. It's not "citrus flavoured".

And you'll probably find that "chocolate flavour" comes from the roasted grain rather than an actual chocolate flavouring (although some stouts use cacao nibs).

It is malted barley, water, yeast, and importantly new varieties of hops, which have different flavours then old English ones.

Just like wine, really .
 
Had a "flight" of local beers when i was out in Chicago last year, hadn't really tried any beers beyond the usual lager types, but I got right into the Goose Island Honkers Ale (can get it over here sometimes now)
Also Great Lakes Brewing co. in Cleveland do some belters including a limited edition one at Christmas that has a hint of cinnamon - seriously it works
