Craft Beer


Strange one. Been championing them since the start, propping up their bars and rocking out at the BVH bday bash. Hopefully whatever it is will be sorted.
 
Went to Polly’s bar in Mold today. Bit disappointing as I like their beers but the place was too focused on food. Got there just after midday and told no tables available as it was bottomless brunch. Told them we were just after a few pints and they agreed to put us on a table which wasn’t reserved till 4. Beers we had were lovely but bit of a strange place
 
Any places of note around King's Cross and Bloomsbury? See that pub crawler has recently been twice so will check his vids out but some may know a bit more about the area(s).

We stop in Russell Sq when we stop in London & there’s loads of canny pubs between King’s Cross & there, but they’re all surprisingly mainstream drinks. Nothing you’d say is proper craft. The odd alternative stout. I believe there’s a place behind King’s Cross that does craft, but not been. We went to the Euston Tap in September before Oasis which is walking distance. There was about 15 different craft beers on, so I just had about 5/6 halves of different gear.

Personally, I like coming out of Kings Cross & zig zagging up the streets towards Russell Sq / Bloomsbury & hitting the pubs there. Avoid the main road outside with the O’Neils & Euston Flyer & stuff. There’s much better pubs yards away on the quieter streets.

I know of a couple of pubs around KC way that do craft. Think Queens Head is one of them.

Queens Head is best for craft within walking distance of KGX. I really like King Charles I for an old school boozer with good cask.

Bloomsbury there's not a great deal in terms of craft. Craft Beer Co down there is good.

Angel itself and Upper Street are dominated by chain stuff but there's plenty good places off the side streets. Down the bottom end the Wenlock Arms and the Earl of Essex are great. The Three Johns is okay as well. Further up you've got the Compton Arms which is also very good, and the Pocket pretty much opposite.

If you keep going up to Highbury Corner there's Hammerton brewery's bar and also The Lamb. I wouldn't really recommend any other pub in that stretch as they're mostly generic and overpriced. I have tried virtually all of them over the years...

Vault City winter berry crumble sour for £2 in morisons. Don't usually go for sours especially in the supermarket but that one is good and for the price
