There was the shock factor with Italy, it was the first major European crisis. But what was shocking there has since become routine everywhere.Uk sadly pretty close to Italy’s ‘curve’ , likely 10/14 days behind.
However the uk media coverage seems to have been a lot more dramatic in coverage of Italy ? All very sad though. Signs that Italy is moving in right direction now though.

Really ?France, Belgium, Netherlands all with a higher percentage of deaths per population but never get mentioned.

In last 6 days deaths in Italy have risen by 27%. Spain by 47%. France by 140 percent. Netherlands by 68 percent. Belgium 122 percent. Germany 115 percent. Germans had the lowest total going in ofncourse but that’s worrisome. Italy is clearly winding down. Spain just a few days behind. France is frightening.France, Belgium, Netherlands all with a higher percentage of deaths per population but never get mentioned.
Exactly. France had considerably fewer deaths than us only last week. Its skyrocketed over there. Sick of seeing these articles saying we're ahead of other countries, changing their metrics every day to paint us in a bad light. Fair enough the data will change but they keep moving the goal posts by changing the start point or days included in the rolling average until they get the results they want.France, Belgium, Netherlands all with a higher percentage of deaths per population but never get mentioned.
Was just thinking that last night. On about we were just about to, or had, surpassed Italy's worst daily death rate, yet there still seems to be a feeling that it's currently not that bad, and that in 2 weeks we'll be like Italy...Uk sadly pretty close to Italy’s ‘curve’ , likely 10/14 days behind.

In many poorer. countries covid deaths will be impossible to totalise due to lack of testing. In last 6 days deaths in Italy have risen by 27%. Spain by 47%. France by 140 percent. Uk in last 6 days is up 145 percent. Even higher than France
And US is up almost 160 percent. Highest of them all for this batch of countries. Which are the leaders other than China in terms of overall deaths.
So you us and France still poised at the brink of a much more horrible result
Sweden is up 123 percent. Switzerland up 68 percent. Denmark 77 percent. Brasil (this could be awful because they don’t have health or economic infrastructure) up 174 percent.
In Italy (and Spain) their health infrastructure fell apart and people who could possibly have been saved were left to die, as far as I know that hasn't happened here which is maybe why there is less dramatic reporting? Was just thinking that last night. What is alleged about how Germany report the deaths?Exactly. France had considerably fewer deaths than us only last week. Its skyrocketed over there. Its awful here no question and its going to get worse but we're still better off than most comparable countries - Germany being the outlier (allegedly) due to how they are reporting Covid deaths.

Was reported that Germany were counting deaths where covid was the cause of death whereas we’re counting people who’ve died and had the disease. An example being a lass who died of cardiac arrest but tested positive. What is alleged about how Germany report the deaths?
Germany includes deaths in care homes the uk doesn't
Everyone who tested positive is included here regardless of pre-conditions.Was reported that Germany were counting deaths where covid was the cause of death whereas we’re counting people who’ve died and had the disease. An example being a lass who died of cardiac arrest but tested positive.
