Coventry

Strong rumours this side. Owner was very coy about it in hospitality on Saturday.
You would probably get him for a very decent price tbf given his contract situation, be a good signing for any promotion chasing side and if he didn’t step up in prem with you there will be a bit money to be made so no brainer really

How much do you think Sunderland would want?

Been on Boro's forum tonight and they reckon their current side would muller Safc if they came up now. Think the pollution down teesside has really taken its toll now. Burnley have lost about 7 or 8 in a row just to give an example of the gulf.
Stretching the 'they' a bit I reckon.

As far as I can see ONE person has made a tongue in cheek remark about us beating all 22 players on the pitch .

Seems it's the wearside pollution that's taking it's toll.

There are other comments too about the 'standard' being dreadful, and the comment about beating us is made more than once and not tongue in cheek. Looks like delusion from Boro.

Well, I have noticed one more comment saying we would beat you.
Yes, a few have said that the standard was poor - but that's just people's opinions, surely - some folk even countered this by saying it's understandable with it being a 'big game' (not wanting to make mistakes).
It's not really 'us' (as a fan base) saying we would Muller you.
Pretty much every Boro fan I know acknowledges (and respects) your start to life in the top flight.

You wait and see, Boro had to spend 6 million doing there's up theist time they got promoted, you lot are in for a shock

Middlesbrough FC spent £6 million on a "facelift" and renovation of the Riverside Stadium during the summer of 2016 to meet Premier League requirements after their promotion. That's AI Google and in 2016, like I say you lot are in for a huge shock, you deffo will have to spend a lot if money on the ground bringing it up
It's about a million just to install VAR

This time last year, after 21 games, Sheff Utd were top with 45 points.

Reckon Ipswich are on for a run yet.

To be fair yeah that does make me reconsider my original post. That being said, Sheffield UTD had 2 ridiculous teams chasing them while the current top 2 are having to fend off the likes of Preston, Hull, and Stoke

I wish they would put it in the championship. The standard of refereeing has been horrendous so far this season.
Congrats on yesterday.
Cheers, I agree, I knkw most hate VAR but its definitely better for tge smaller prem clubs overall

They can try and do what we did. They haven't spent that much (net) over the last few years, buy a few players and stick them on 5 year contracts to stay very much within PSR rules.
That said, I'm not clued up on the new regulations around what clubs can spend or when the new rules kick in
Yeah they are a well run club financially at least. Got decent money for Hamer and Gjokeres and haven’t spent much more than that. But I get the feeling they don’t have the backroom connections like we do or a scouting network. Can’t see them picking up Sadikis for 20m. I might be wrong. If anything we’ve shown promoted clubs the way this season.

I think Grumpy reckons they won't have much financial headroom.
