Coventry

Good result today. Been keeping an eye on you lot and you're doing great.

Looks like we'll be seeing you next season. Not the Boro though, they'll fall away, I reckon.

Some shout to say they'll fall away like, 7pts clear and the chasing pack are all falling over eachother to drop points...

...wouldn't mind it if they lost in the playoffs again mind

Been on Boro's forum tonight and they reckon their current side would muller Safc if they came up now. Think the pollution down teesside has really taken its toll now. Burnley have lost about 7 or 8 in a row just to give an example of the gulf.

Genuinely think any team coming up will have to invest heavily in backroom staff like we did and on top of that have a DOF model with strong contacts. Leeds do break this idea if they manage to stay up but they had a quality team already last season to build upon

Coventry probably won't have either the money or the financial wiggle room.

Our owner is very astute. I think he would invest wisely to try and keep us up. There's no denying that a lot of our heroes from our current team wouldn't have the ability for the PL . Sad, but true.

Hope the Dan Neil rumours are true; he's ace.

What rumours are they? If he's heading to Coventry I'm not sure he'd be a shrewd move with an eye on the PL. He's not getting any game time at all with Safc for a reason. He's a highly technical player, great engine and genuinely two footed. But he'd probably be better of playing in a European league where pace and strength are less important. I really like him but he's possibly not cut out for the Premier League.

I love Dan Neil and I do think he could potentially play PL, but certainly not as a single pivot as he was for us last season and also probably not in a newly promoted PL midfield, unless you have pace and strength around him.

So you start to question what midfield in the PL could he play in.

Pains me to say it but he's too easily out muscled. Not sure if we will even see him during Afcon. Maybe if we are struggling for wingers and Enzo has to cover out there. Be interesting to see if he can impose himself with say Granit and Geertruida or Le Fee around him. Suspect Rigg is ahead of him in the clubs plans now though.

Not so sure, they had a little sticky patch just as their manager left but they've started putting results together again. They look very good at present

Strong rumours this side. Owner was very coy about it in hospitality on Saturday.

I am hoping we both build a gap between the two of us and third. There will be an inevitable sticky patch, so if we both have a cushion then all good. Have to be honest I'm not too bothered whether we finish 1st or 2nd, just be in that top two.

Also, being old i remembered what being in the top flight was like last time. Rubbish most of the time. Still, good for the young 'uns like my son who is desperate for us to get there.

That is usually the case for all but 5 or 6 clubs. We are enjoying it immensely at present but we also know how easily and quickly it can become tedious again as teams struggle to finish near mid table with one or two poor signings as your better players leave

This time last year, after 21 games, Sheff Utd were top with 45 points.

Reckon Ipswich are on for a run yet.

He is astute but I have to say I just don’t think you have the financial backing to spank £150m like we have.

I’ve asked this here before - which of your current team would be in your PL team? I reckon Rudoni, MVE, and I’m not sure who else. Even Grimes, who is your best player this season, is too small and light for the PL.

Do they?
Not saying that's not true, but I've not spoken to a single Boro fan (or read anything by one) who thinks that.

KH has made a great start and we're playing some really good football (feels like 🐀 has done us a favour), but it's still early days.

They can try and do what we did. They haven't spent that much (net) over the last few years, buy a few players and stick them on 5 year contracts to stay very much within PSR rules.
That said, I'm not clued up on the new regulations around what clubs can spend or when the new rules kick in
