County Cricket 2026

Lancashire struggling at present against Middlesex. 69/6. Lead of 101.

Ryan Harris 4 wickets.

Middlesex won in the end, which is a good outcome for us, although it’s meant there are a lot of teams all building up on roughly the same points total behind us. 21 point lead over Middlesex in second, if Derbyshire can finish the job tomorrow at home to Northants our 21 point cushion will remain, as Northants would only take 1 point from a defeat :o.

Hoping Gloucestershire can beat Kent in their game too, just to demoralise them a bit before we play them. They’re currently 249 ahead with one second innings wicket remaining. Another failure for Crawley in Kent’s second innings wouldn’t go amiss either.
It's good to see Hampshire bottom of Div.1 with 4 defeats in 5. Wonder which county their chairman will campaign to get a points deduction to save them from relegation this year.

Absolutely delighted to see that, they’ve been miles off it like - as many people predicted.

Tea being taken across the country. Glamorgan need 14 runs to win, while Somerset need 3 wkts to win at Cardiff, seems a bit pointless to go off there. Notts v Surrey nailed on draw. Sussex need 89 to win at Hove, but it's raining. Derbyshire need 3 wkts to beat Northants. Kent need 88 to win while Gloucs need to bowl them out to win at Bristol.

Interesting narrative going on in the Somerset game looks like Sean Dickson the player Somerset let go last season is going to get the runs to help Glamorgan win.

Surprised they let him go as he played some brilliant innings last season to help them win The Blast.

All be it a different format

Glamorgan win but wow with Ryan Hadley came out as night watchman yesterday and scored 50 not out facing 231 balls in just under 5 hours

I dont think he wanted to go.
Aye heroic effort from him a previous career best in all first team formats of 15*!!!

He'd previously only faced 250 FC deliveries prior to this match and a further 22 other format balls to boot

f***ing funny though

I think there are bigger questions to be asked regarding the performance of the umpires in that game, particularly on Day 4. There were two absolutely plumb lbws as the game went down to the wire and a caught behind that couldn’t have been anything other than bat that weren’t given and I suspect one or two Somerset players will be facing disciplinary action following their completely understandable reactions.

From a league perspective, that’s back to back defeats for Somerset, in almost reverse situations to Durham’s last two wins - they lost games from positions where they had almost unassailable leads. That’s probably their title hopes dead and buried too and in a way it’s a bit sad because they’ve come very close in a few recent seasons but this could signal the end for this group.

That low appeal at the end by Somerset looked plumb out to me
