I was noticing the other day how high the scores seem to be now as well. They play on roads and it’s just a 6 hitting competition.

I don’t not watch it out of some sort of protest, I just find it dull these days. Franchise cricket in general as well, it’s just guns for hire for a few weeks before the next one

It hasn't been the same since it went up to 10 teams. Even though it's just 2 teams it's definitely cause the quality to be severely diluted.

The good news is that a number of prominent pundits have called it out. Plenty of mentions of ‘baseball’ when talking about the competition.

Back to the proper cricket ;).

7 draws out of 9 fixtures this week, an excellent rearguard from Northants’ last pair, keeping Lancashire at bay for 15.3 overs.

Worcestershire too kept Derbyshire at bay, batting for 120 overs to salvage a share of the chocolates.

Surrey lost only 1 wicket on Day 4 at Egbaston.

There were also draws at Cardiff (Yorkshire nearly did a Durham) and Taunton where it’s clearly too early in the summer for Leach to enjoy the sort of assistance from the surfaces that he’s benefited from in recent years down there.

Yeah I was at Derby today. Not the most exciting day of cricket as Worcester easily batted out for a draw. I left at tea when Ethan Brookes had scored 4 runs from something like 50 balls.

That being said it was nice sitting in the sun with a nice cold pint watching some proper cricket again. I’ve burnt all my legs and face mind. :lol:

Aye im the same. A random CC/ Blast/ List A game? I'm in.
But the IPL and all these franchise leagues just bore me to tears. I feel like all cricket is now is someone like Sam Curran bowling to Quinten De Kock in different outfits every few weeks.
 
Ex players:
Dickson: 2 runs in 28 balls for Glamorgan.
Bancroft: 6 runs in 33 balls for Gloucestershire.
Jones: 71 runs in 93 balls for Lancashire.
Pretorius: 4 wickets for 78 for Somerset.

No sign of Coughlin or Jennings for Lancs.
 
With the IPL last year and the year before I thought I’d watch the first game and see if I could get into it as I’m constantly being told how great it is. I think I managed to watch 5 or 6 overs then switched it off. I thought it was shite.

I haven’t bothered watching one ball this year.

T20 is my least favourite format anyway. Don’t get me wrong I can watch a bit of it now and again especially if it’s England playing or the Blast, but there’s that much franchise shite on these days its difficult to follow and it doesn’t have the ebb and flow of proper cricket.

If you want to watch someone trying to clear the fence every ball then maybe go and watch baseball.

I saw a stat earlier that in the first 13 games of this years IPL there have been 10 scores over 200, it's got very predictable and vastly weighed in favour of the batsman.
