County Cricket 2026

We definitely need him for England in an era without Broad and Anderson, would love to know the full story behind his exclusion and whether justified or not?
The breakdown of trust was his wife (then GF) Mia Baker revealing in her podcasts that the England management had ballsed up Ollie's visa application for India, and the team had gone galavanting on a private jet in the mid series break.
If Crawley gets the nod for the first test when there are top order players doing much better, we will know for certain there is a rabbit off here.
His form is truly abysmal.
Thing is he is never consistently awful enough for England to warrant getting dropped. He will always eke out a career saving 75-85 in the final test.

They will probably pick a non opener (Rew or Smith) to open, it turn out badly and it'll be look there's no-one else.

He’s always been shite. I can only assume having a rich daddy and being privately educated must still aid in selection in some way as he’s never been good enough.

Northants doing well against Worcestershire. They've been good for Durham so far having held on against Lancashire for a draw and looking strong against the pears. They were unlucky not to win against Kent who were saved by the rain. Otherwise they'd be near the top of the league. Seems like they shouldn't be underestimated.

They’ve just walked off at Taunton for bad light with two balls left in the day. The floodlights which had been on, apparently must be turned off at 18:59. Local regulation by all accounts, so that has ended the day
To gain a 300+ lead and win by an innings. Sound enough tactic surely?

Very sound given the time left in the game.

You could say the same about Durham.

I said at the start of the season that Northants would be up there though.
True.

They'll miss Conway when he goes unless they find a good replacement. They've got some strength in depth with batting but not so much in the bowling department in my view. Sanderson is doing brilliantly though.

Lehmann has signed a contract extension which is great not just for Northants but the county game in general. He's done a great job there.

A cracking final day in the offing down at Taunton, that pitch looks like a fantastic four day cricket wicket. Did a bit on day one, but has gradually flattened as the game has gone on and is now taking spin. Peter Trego on comms reckons he’ll be confident Somerset can chase anything under 300 and I hope they can do it.

Good news at Southampton, where it appears only the weather can save the home side from an absolute battering at the hands of Glamorgan.

As @Inside Forward mentions, Leicestershire are staring down the barrel of a heavy defeat at home to local rivals Nottinghamshire.

Kent will fancy themselves for a win at home to much fancied Derbyshire, who require another 360 odd with 9 wickets remaining to avoid going four games without a victory to start the season.

Lastly, @TheRey ’s lads look in good shape to get their first win of 2026, they need 6 wickets and Sussex still trail by 188.

Nice summary. Plenty to play for on the last day apart from perhaps at Lords

Another big century for Crawley. But bods will tell you hes unselectable because hes doesnt have a strike rate north of 80. f***ing clowns.
🤡

He was 4 over par on the exclusive golf day at Wentworth. Can't carry passengers in this team
Zak Crawley. Needs some time with the Kent 2nds I think.
I honestly think at this point, Kent would be better off acquiring a white sheet and a shotgun.
-------

That initial bit should say Sibley, obviously
Ill blame a good day on the drink
