Don’t see this ending well for James Vince.
How's that he's not going to play for England again. His family have moved to Dubai due to the attacks on his house.

He's wanted in T20 leagues around the world. Guys going to make an absolute killing for the next 5 years I'd imagine.

Just a feeling, I suspect he’ll be back scratching around the Championship before the end of his career.

Has Vince quit cricket at home for the overseas T20 money, or to get away from the attacks at home?

Was he still getting problems at home after they were made public? If so there maybe more to this than the mistaken identity theory.

The risk some of these players are taking is that it only takes a run of poor form in 1-2 tournaments for them to be out of work. The classic example is Will Smeed, retired at 21yo to jump on the franchise gravy train, had a poor 2023 in the PSL and CPL which resulted in the only competitive cricket he managed to get in 2024 being in the T20 Blast for Somerset.

That's a pretty poor comparison seeing as James Vince is the all time Blast run scorer and only Hales has more runs in the BBL from an non Australian player.

Here's his domestic T20 record(annoys me Cricinfo only put this up for T20s!). Pretty sure he'll keep getting gigs

No brainer for Vince really he is not going to play test cricket for England again and has done more than a decade on the county treadmill.
I wouldn't be surprised if his big mate Dawson doesn't follow him.
They can easily return if it doesn't work out.

Williamson signing for Middlesex and we be available for most of the blast and second half of CC season.

Serious signing but how are they affording that given their troubles? MCC paying towards it maybe (given he plays for Spirit in 16.4).

i think we will see more of this, Middlesex will pay him a wage, wonder if his London Spirit wage will be enhanced to cover it

A real coup that

We 'lose' our best players to England contracts but Middlesex buy in world class foreign talent. Hardly an incentive to develop your own youngsters. I appreciate we also buy in talent but I feel this is next level.
