County Cricket 2024

For some reason I thought Worrall was late 30s but he’s ‘only’ 32. I wonder if England actually take an interest in him.

Subtle dig at Franklin by Cameron?
New management came in at Durham, the runs fell away, and game time had to be found elsewhere after barren seasons in 2019 and 2020. “They said: ‘You’re not going to play or start next season.’ And I said: ‘Well, what about my bowling?’ They were like: ‘We don’t see you bowling in professional cricket.’”

Steel disagreed. “I knew my bowling was good. I’d worked seriously hard during Covid. And I saw myself very differently to how other people saw me. When it comes to cricket, I’m quite timid. So, for me, looking back, that was quite bullish.”

He was one of many who couldn't stand Franklin.

Wow. I'm totally shocked. As has been mentioned I remember him as being the bowler when Stokes hit 34 off one of his overs.

20 yo . No age
I watched that incredible over when I was at New Road and really felt for the lad . But Ben Stokes was keen to offer his support immediately after the game. I was talking to one of the parents of a Worcestershire player about it only last week and he told me how kind he had been to Josh. Can’t believe he has gone. So young.

The runs fell away before Franklin took over TBF. He was poor in the 2018 season.

Well played sorting himself out, but young players of a similar standard (e.g. Weighell, Harte, Scott Steel) are no longer professional cricketers.

He was poor but he'd taken a bad blow to the head pre-season which severely affected his confidence after looking very promising the season before.Thought the club were a little premature In writing him off.
