County Championship Wins since 1992

Thought I would have a look at where we stand against the other counties since our first season. The list of Title wins since 1992 is now as follows;

Warwickshire 4
Durham 3
Surrey 3
Sussex 3
Leicestershire 2
Nottinghamshire 2
Essex 1
Glamorgan 1
Lancashire 1
Middlesex 1
Yorkshire 1

Pretty impressive considering where we started from as complete novices and perennial cannon fodder through the 90's.

Also interesting to note that 11 of the 18 first class counties have been champions at least once since we came in, which just shows how much more even cricket is as a sport at domestic level compared to football. It must also be a little irritating to the three counties who have never won the title in their history (Gloucestershire, Northants and Somerset) to see us having so much success in so short a space of time. I bet it especially annoys Somerset after having been runners up last season.[DOUBLEPOST=1379719907][/DOUBLEPOST]I realise this might come across as a 1992 mag type football post and that cricket was not invented in 1992, but it shows how well we have done. Would love to see us win a few more and actually make real progress up the all time table. Its unlikely we could ever catch the likes of Middlesex and Surrey in my lifetime and the Yorkies are out of sight, but it's not inconceivable we could get into the top half of the all time table. We are already ahead of 5 counties in that and level with 3 more. Next target would be to catch Worcestershires 5.

They are not really as there are 7 other counties on zero, but I take your point in the way it was intended;)

The other challenge is surely to try and overtake Warwickshire and become the most successful county since our arrival.
At least one title involved Lara at the peak of his career, chalk that fecker off as unfair

Some Derbyshire CCC troll was gobbing off about us buying our way to the title on twitter last week.... (!!!!) Moaning & twisting

Seems other counties were happy to pat us on the head every week during the 90s beating us by an innings every game but now we are somewhat of a dominant force in the game its probably not sitting too well in some circles.

Read something similair on the Yorkshire forum last week along the lines of "Durham used to be my 2nd county to follow when they were crap but now they are winning I hate them".

We were relatively easy meat for number of years (1992-2004) and some can now not handle the fact that we actually win things.

Just what winning does

I'm sure most non-shouty non Internet types are pleased for us

Dobell on 5live eulogising last night was great, despite them really wanting him to talk about the misery at Surrey[DOUBLEPOST=1379754587][/DOUBLEPOST]Non of the criticism aimed at us stands up to more than 30 seconds of scrutiny
