I work in HE and lots of my colleagues are likely to lose their jobs or have to apply for work permits because of Brexit and the hit to funding. It's also caused massive ballache and uncertainty for family living in the EU. Easy not to be bitter if it doesn't directly affect you.

Politics section please

He tried to remedy it in January which was the reason for the grumblings near the end of the window.

He has absolutely no basis/justification for whinging about money, he has had more than enough to assemble a better team and squad than he has. It will be enough to get you up but fuck me there will need to be a total re-build needed in the summer......when a re-build is needed as you are going into the top league it's a nice enough problem to have

Not sure why you would say he had a worse squad then?

Indeed, it's almost like the amount you spend isn't the be all and end all.
It's no coincidence that the clubs that spend the most money generally have the most success.

City
Chelsea
Man Utd
Spurs
Liverpool
Arsenal
Spend the most money by a country mile thus buying the better players thus normally finishing top 6 every year

I didn't say it was irrelevant tbf, just that there are other factors.

This has got nothing at all to do with todays game - and the Eu has nowt to do with no shipbuilding in NE.
Its about global overcapacity - and the ability to build them cheaper in places like Poland, Taiwan, and China. Naff all to do with the EU
in your opinion mate in your opinion dont forget ...you missed South Korea off there too

Just had another proud dad moment there like. My 5 year old was asking why sunderland weren't playing, but Newcastle were. Tried to explain about the cup and Newcastle in a lower league than us etc. He then says with a very thoughtful look on his face, "I hate it when sunderland get beat, but it's funny when Newcastle get beat isn't it, imagine if they got beat 60 hundred nil dad, we'd have a party". Then started laughing his head off.

I really didn't think I'd been teaching him this tbh, but he just knows he supports sunderland first, then wants them to get beat. Good lad

You've raised him well, good lad @John J Rambo junior

Has to know the difference round here janey. He's got no choice mind, as the in laws are all SAFC as well, so no cross contamination. I've just put him to bed there and he was singing the Defoe song while going to the toilet  little topper like.
Class I really need feel good stories at the minute and that's put a big smile on me face

I don't see how the players that were kept post relegation in 2016 not being as good as the ones in 2009 reflects bad on Benitez. I'd have to recheck who we signed in the summer of 2009 but there are a few of Benitez's signings that will do okay if we are promoted (Gayle, Ritchie, Hayden as backup).

So your best 3 players as "back up"?

Yes! Great stuff there!
Would love to see Ryder spin that 6000-0 defeat scoreline into something positive

They will finish 3rd. 6/1 before today 3/1 now to finish 3rd. Benitez out of ideas and transfer windows, but he won relegation so who knows
