G Force

Striker
has overtaken Boon, Haynes, (Pieterson) and Lloyd in the all time scoring list

With another 40 will also overtake Taylor, Yousuf & Greenidge

Some huge names from my youth in there...

He'll be the first Englishman to reach 5 figures in terms of Test runs and not before time.

Our omissions at the top of leading wicket takers and run scorers annoys me.

The fact Botham is still leading wicket taker is embarrassing what is it 385?

383 m8.

just shows that firstly England chopped and changed a lot.

Secondly, England players tend to retire earlier than say the Indians and Aussies due to the lure of media money security etc.

Thirdly, very few of them want to go back to the grind of an English County season for slimmer pickings.

Durham being a bit of an exception tho.

Youngest and quickest Batsman in the world to get to 7000 runs wasn't he? Even quicker than Sachin, the only problem he'll have will be longevity in the game, he'll go close.

I think the fact he can bat out 3/400 balls and not even seem to get tired or sweat, should mean he'll have a very long career. Whether he'll want to still be playing international cricket when he's 40 is another issue though
