Controversial Indian Food Opinion

Our daughter’s job takes her to Sri Lanka, Goa, Maldives. She always brings us back loads of authentic sauces and mixes/rubs. Makes having a fantastic curry fairly easy 👍
She’s just brought me back a witch doctors remedy for arthritis. Haven’t tried it yet 😆

I would suggest most people here only know “British Indian” food. Things like Tikka Masala. Rice and chips. Poppadums and pickle tray.
That’s not real Indian food.
However, enough restaurants serve it and enough people go and buy it regularly to suggest that we like it.
Comparing it to other foods is just personal preference.

I don’t think it’s very good. It’s over the top. Just watching Tony Singh on Saturday kitchen making masala Lobster. What an absolute waste of a lobster. That’s far too much to put on a lobster. The lobster should be the main flavour of the dish. Once you start relying on loads of spices in your food your palate is ruined. The Indians haven’t a clue about food because they always have to have huge flavours and never seem to be satisfied with subtle flavours. When Indians go on masterchef you just know they’re making a curry. It’s predictable and boring.
Go to India and eat food there. Especially street food (be careful, only use busy vendors used by locals) Best you'll ever taste. Completely different to UK Indian food.
Was there backpacking for a month this January.
Best trip I've ever had

The worst curry I ever had in my life was in Delhi, been from the top of India to the bottom, best Indian food I have eaten was in London, but it wasn’t authentic Indian,it’s Indian slanted to the UK palate.
