I'd take a good guess he's firmly on KLDs side. JS & KLD mix in exactly the same circles, both business and family wise. I'm also sure it was reported that JS was the one who originally approached KLD to come on board.
Donald and Methven are minuscule in comparison to Sartori & KLD.

Like a lot of you on here my dad has said from the start that the whole thing was dodgy. I really didn't want to believe it, especially when kyril calls them asset strippers and the whole club set up supposedly changing for the better. Over time it clearly looked worse and worse and now...well, can't get much worse. Unless we finish outside the play offs, but at this point it wouldn't even be a surprise. These ***** have made me have such a strong disdain for the club

They don't need him. Between the two of them, Donald and Sartori own 54%. They have the ultimate power as long as they agree - they could remove KLD as chairman, they can hire and fire anyone, they can buy or sell any player. They are the controlling interest.

From what I what I read and understood when I had my suspicions about it all, arrangements can be made for the largest minority shareholders to take ‘control’ with the agreement of other another minority shareholder.

That said, it’s still a concern because the issue comes down to club funding. And I think they’re pretty much all in it together anyway. Certainly KLD, Methven and Sartori.

The notion that KLD was headhunting Lee Johnson from Bristol City, Kristjaan Speakman from Birmingham and Steve Davidson was always slightly suspicious to me. Just seems a bit far fetched that a French Swiss trust fund boy was scouting those lot out from his chalet in the Alps.

What does this mean for decision making at the club if KLD doesn't have voting rights over the rest? Would it literally come down to needing a 3:1 majority in agreement to get things through

Ultimate control rests with any voting "bloc" that can cast 50% +1 of the votes. So KLD does not have a controlling stake. Donald and Sartori between them could do anything they wanted.

KLD lied to the supporters. This was not a takeover - it was a minority investor coming in, being pushed to the front, and acting like a new owner, to take the heat of Donald & his cronies.

If this is the real breakdown, I'm not sure what the outcry is about.

They've said all along KLD is controlling/majority shareholder. If that split is right, then this isn't a lie.
They've always said the other 3 reduced their percentage but still hold some percentage of the club. If that split is right, then this isn't a lie.

Sunderland AFC today received approval from the English Football League for Kyril Louis-Dreyfus to acquire a controlling interest in the club, signalling the start of a new era on Wearside.

Stewart Donald said: “I am delighted to welcome Kyril Louis-Dreyfus to the club as our new chairman and controlling shareholder.

I have no idea whether he is the chairman , but owning more shares than any other single person , I don't see where the lie is ?
