I've got tickets for at least 5 events where it's going to be over 3 years without having an option of a refund.

Complete bollocks.

Surely once they reschedule, they're legally obliged to offer a refund?

I had tickets for a gig that was rescheduled a couple of time. I had a few questions i emailed to ticketmaster (nothing about refunds). And it was ticketmaster themselves who asked me if I wanted a refund. In the end I did, and they were spot on, money back on the credit card within 48 hrs.
