Conceding 4 is Bad

I love Luke O’Nien but we need better as 3rd choice. Mukiele should have played there today
Can’t disagree with this to be fair. First choice for me is Mukiele, Ballard, Alderete, Reinildo. After that, it still starts easy enough for me - if one CB is out, then I’d start Hume at RB and move Mukiele to cover CB and likewise for me Hume is first choice cover at RB and LB. Then Geertruida is 3rd choice at RB for me. The only way O’Nien starts is if both Ballard and Alderete aren’t fit, or if either of them is unfit as well as Mukiele (or both Hume and Geertruida).

It's happened a few times this season away from home. When we haven't been at it defensively we've conceded 3+ goals. That's what happens in this league.
I rather it happened at Villa and not Newcastle. We don’t have great away form but it was worth it to win there.

Probably should have been more aswell. The bar saved us thenca great last ditch tackle from Ballard not to mention when Mcginn and Watkins were 2 on 1 and really should have scored. Crazy game today and mad ending but over the 90 plus minutes we were dreadful defensively as a team
It’s almost as if people can’t accept being beaten by very good teams😂

Weren’t quite at it defensively and cant do that away from home against a strong team.

Although saying that we still had the chance to win the game, gutting and encouraging at the same time

The best team won so the question for me is would I rather watch us lose 1-0 or 4-3 and it would be 4-3 every time. I suspect Reggie will be trying it for the rest of the season with nothing to lose. I think most fans would rather see their team play expansive football.

Agree but don't see how that translates to a bad attitude unless you have some inside info.
Nah nowt. I just don’t see how he doesn’t get a game for us at all, unless

A. The manager doesn’t think he’s up to it (why would he think that with how he’s played for us ?)
B. Attitude/ training etc.

Give me another theory if you have one

Agree and think he should play more but you are the one with the theories

Bet Bologna felt as bad letting four goals in at Villa a few days ago but the difference between us and them is we scored 3 goals and probably should of went ahead if not won the game in the end at Villa. Not our best defensive display this season but can't understand anyone having ago at us for pushing a Europa League semi finalist team who are on form and on the verge of being in the champs league next season all the way away from home. We were unlucky today and showed that we will fight Til the end of the season for points.

Because he’s a fantastic footballer who should absolutely be starting games based on how he’s played for us and skill level?
He may well be a fantastic footballer but let’s be honest he’s not been ‘fantastic’ once in his time at Sunderland. Some good, some solid, some average and some poor. Maybe should have arguably played more at times but the occasional suggestion on here that his absence is some form of travesty simply isn’t rooted in reality.

Geertruida has to be an attitude thing surely.

Deffo gone in the summer
RLB said in his press conference this week Geertruida has a very positive attitude.

He also explained that his thought process is not 100% choosing one player over another, more like 49/51 and describes it as a grey area.

I don't disagree he'll likely be gone in the summer, but by all accounts it won't be down to his attitude.
