As I say, squad cost and wage bill usually come to the fore but we'll see. Im relaxed about it. Forget about the murderers and concentrate on us

From the outside, the mags are starting to look like a bit of a soulless machine, all cash, no connection. There’s a growing respect for how we’re doing things from fans outside the region who are noticing it, which I witness firsthand as an exile. If you’re a talented young player coming through in the North East right now, and someone asked which academy you’d rather be in, where would you point them?

We’re on the rise, doing it properly, and if we keep going like this, all those fears will be long gone or potentially even reversed. It's crazy to think back to this time and look at what KLD and the team have done in such a short space of time when at one point all felt lost.

A draw would be as bad as losing for their super sized egos and delusional entitlement. (We'd obviously be portrayed in the media as the plucky under dogs who battled against all the odds, David v Goliath, insert journo clichés.)

£700m squad of established PL players, CL qualifiers, League Cup winners last season with media darling Beheaddie at the helm vs newly promoted team just back in the PL after a decade adrift in footballing purgatory with a team of players worth less than a third of theirs on paper and some unknown Frenchman in charge!

The mags were all über confident of 6 easy points pre-season and still seem to think its a foregone conclusion and our start is just a flash in the pan, beginners luck if you will. Even some their players have put comments on their social media about the fans over emphasising how its "the ONLY game theyre bothered about."

Imagine though what the scenes would be IF we turn them over. Their whole identity, their raison d'être, is completely demolished. The facade is pulled down and, even if we win by a flukey late goal going in off O9's arse after being battered for most of the game, there's no coming back for them. The illusion they create of super duper toon, cock of the north, is no more.

For many of them, and their arse licking friends in the media, it would be the ultimate disaster. And Christmas would be ruined.

As long as we give a good account of ourselves the rest is gravy.

Lose, should be expected they have quality (dirty) players.

Draw it'll feel like a win for us and defeat for them.

Win, I'm not sure if the scenes from previous defeats to us would be close to the carnage that would erupt from their fans.

Laughing because I can't disagree with anything you've said. The longer this reversal in form continues (and I firmly believe their European involvement will continue to affect their league form) the more twitchy their black and white arses are becoming.

It's not silly in the slightest ffs. People saying we haven't played any of the top teams, people saying we shouldn't get carried away because it MIGHT come back to bite us and give the Mags ammunition can fekk right off for me. EIGHT sodding years of their gloating and all the bollox about being the richest club in the world , and all the shit that went with it. Thanks but for as long as it lasts they're gonna get reminded that little old Sunlun are where we are. FTM STID.
 
I honestly couldn’t care less about it. As long as we don’t lose to them at home and stay-up, that’ll more than do me. Even if we do lose and stay-up, I’d still be more than happy, come the end of the season.
 
I’m still wishing teams below lose etc so let’s get safe first. See where we are if and when we do that, they’ll be around the top ten I don’t think they’ll have as good a season as last unless the German lad manages to replace isaks goals and Wissa gets fit. Let’s just get safe and enjoy the ride. Whatever happens from here on out the board and owner have given it a go, they’ll fans have sold out home and away games and some of the best atmospheres we’ve had for league games in a long time let’s enjoy and see where it goes.

Usually every club without a massive squad running on a Euro front has a dubious spell of league form.

I'll join you in laughing once it kicks in.
 
I still think they’ll finish above us (and for all the money they’ve spent they should) but can you imagine coming away from the SOL after that FA Cup game and thinking less than 2 years later that we’d even be having this conversation!

Only ahead of us before a ball was kicked. We are top north east dogs 6 game weeks ahead and they can’t catch us GW7 as well.
