Good news people, the BBC commentary deal with the ECB will continue this year and that means the season for Durham fans begins in just under a month.
Durham v The MCC runs from Sunday, March 23rd, to Wednesday, March 26th and follows the rules of a normal first class match.

It will be played under lights in Abu Dhabi again using a pink ball. This is the fourth year the champions have played the MCC out there.

I will be doing online commentary which will be streamed by the BBC and MCC, and hopefully on DAB on 5 Live Sports Extra.

The MCC is providing guests to help me with commentary and we will have players etc as well.

Virender Sehwag and Muttiah Muralitharan form part of the MCC side.

UAE is 4 hours ahead of GMT until March 30th. So for the purposes of this match we are looking at a four hour difference.

Start time is 2.30pm local, 10.30am GMT. This is the same as a county championship match would be here in September!

Lunch 4.30pm local, 12.30pm GMT (40 min break)

Tea 7.10pm local 3.10 GMT (20min break)

Scheduled finish time 9.30pm local 5.30pm GMT ....or when overs are bowled.

MCC squad travelling to Abu Dhabi:Virender Sehwag (India, capt for Durham game), Muttiah Muralitharan (Sri Lanka, T20 capt), Sam Robson (Middlesex), Luis Reece (Lancashire), Daniel Bell-Drummond (Kent), Samit Patel (Nottinghamshire), Prasanna Jayawardene (Sri Lanka, wk), Ollie Rayner (Middlesex), Andre Adams (Nottinghamshire), Harry Gurney (Nottinghamshire), Kyle Hogg (Lancashire), Monty Panesar (Essex).
Match news here:
At some point every cricket commentary will be linked to the BBC sports player app for smartphones so we won't have to mess around with Tune In Radio numbers. But I am not sure when that change will be made.
