Colly v Yardy

I've no problem with Colly but a bit unsure on Bopara, there must be a reason he never gets a bowl for England, even behind KP and Trott..

Bopara's bowling was pretty decent when he first got into the England team, and apparently he's put loads of work into it since and is baffled why he never gets a bowl for England.

Hopefully if we can beat the Bangles on Friday, we may be able to rest one of the seamers and give Tredwell a game against West Indies to see how he gets on. If he performs well perhaps we can then drop Yardy who has been very poor and TBH looks well out of his depth in this format of the game.

However, I still think he will retain his place due to the lack of spin options in the usual line up. I suspect Bopara will be promoted to open with Strauss and Morgan and Colly will battle it out for number 5.

Cant see there being much battle. Morgan should, and will walk into the team.

I remember talking to the BBC Kent cricket correspondent at Chester-Le-Street station after the championship game last year and he said without any sarcasm or humour that Tredwell was better than Swann!, and to think it was me who had been on the Stella all day

I think Tredwell has a very un-natural action, just appears clumsy. When you look at people like Swann, and Monty when he was in his pomp, they both have effortless actions.

Tredwell just seems to plonk it down.

Tredwell looks poor and was only chosen as the only other option was to fat to play.

Yardy will play as I would have thought the Bangles will produce a spinning pitch to suit them as this really is a key game. Colly and Yardy will be the debate pretty much all the World cup and the decision should be based on the state of the pitch.

Colly getting a bit of jip again on SKY.

What do they expect? He could hardly do any more than he did with the bat given the situation and he bowled 7 tight overs considering that the fields he was given allowed easy singles.

Collingwood did not do much wrong IMO.

he only had a few balls to face when he batted and did ok with the ball.

Should get Luke Wright in for the next game. Both Colly and Yardy have been shite so far; might as well give him a go just to see Cartwright's reaction if nothing else.
