No surprise really. Wonder if this decision will push him into retirement or will he hang around to take the Durhem captaincy next season.

cant help but wonder if stokes might have snuck into one or the other of those squads if not for his injury, possibly ahead of lumb or luke wright?
 
Colly dropped due to loss of form - he's just hit a ton from 150 balls!!

3 captains now, Cook who was excluded from the world cup is now captain, the English selectors are coming across as pretty clueless IMO

But he hasn't played much cricket if any this season so far. The correct decision for me.

And his form for England pre-injury has been poor for a while. I agree with him being dropped, but at his age I can't see him getting back in. Wouldn't surprise me if he sees out the season and that's it.

Or maybe try for an IPL contract next year.

Anyone know if he's got any coaching ambitions?
