We've obviously got a lot to say on this. Only found out this afternoon it had been pulled.

The whole process around making this happen was pretty frustrating for all parties involved at our end.

Will make the point - this was only happening with our involvement because we work with the pub. The pub had an agreement with a mutual 3rd party that meant this event could happen. It was an obligation. We have asked if we can do something with the manager/CEO before but obviously they're never going to allow it.

We don't want to say anymore until we read the club's statement as we don't know what their official reason is for pulling out.

We suggested at the outset that it would be a bad idea to have Bain involved and didn't want him to be involved. We wanted to talk football and not politics.
Will you be relaying the official statement on the podcast and/or musing over what you think the reason behind it was?

Pub: Ooh Martin, we’ll mak sure ya get a good portion of saveloy on the neet....

MB: Fuck that, Im out & CC isn’t allowed either

Backbones of jelly fish
Get Nick Barnes to ask C.C.when he interviews him for radio Finnan before the Boro game...he loves asking awkward questions we all want to know the answers too and never gives any Sunderland managers an easy ride..then again!

I'm not sure whether you can elaborate on this or not so I understand if you can't. I just don't understand how a pub in town, or a mutual party, could force an obligation with a football club to hold a supporters meeting there. Nor, if there was indeed an obligation, how they can pull out anyway?

The club have an agreement with a third party that they have to do a number of these types of events a season, I believe. The same third party also has a relationship with the pub. Therefore this pub seemed a good fit for the event given the relationship.

It's not a supporters meeting. It was a talk in type affair.

I imagine they could pull out and then rearrange at a later date. Whether we'd want any involvement in the rearranged affair would be another matter entirely, given how they've fucked us, the venue and most importantly the fans about.

Just saw it after I posted. I just cannot get my head around what sort of entity, bar the league, can have such power over the club.

Edit: I don't expect you to tell me who it is by the way. I'm just thinking out loud.
The only link I made was RAWA? That's if I'm reading it right.
