Both made promising starts for Scotland and Italy in the World T20 qualifiers.

Coetzer made 46 for Scotland in their win over Kenya and Di Venuto made 40 in Italys game, which I believe the won by 9 runs?
 

Italy won by 9 wickets with 6 overs to spare. It looks like MDV took it easy.

Italy play again this morning and virtually every day this week. Its a heavy schedule for MDV who is nearing 40.

Its only T20 though. I would imagine he doesnt move around too much in the field. He will be the catcher in the Powerplay and just plonk himself at extra cover the rest of ths innings. Bit of a knock and its a nice day out!
 
Diva got 23 today, off about twice as many balls!

Entertaining game by the sounds of it, Ireland scored 104-8 to win with 2 balls left.

MDV appears to be a lynchpin of the innings for them and his strike rate is fairly modest for him. I guess the thinking is that if he goes early then the rest could fold like a pack of cards.

Italy has done well so far and as you say had hard lines today.

My Durham memberships arrived today. Is anyone else a member?
