Mediocre defender signed because of his nationality. Thought he did well away against the scum and he's proven useful in cover but no point in keeping him IMO.

he only made one error, let the ball bounce and vardy got ahead of him to get possession in the right back area,

made some great tackles throughout the game and won every header!

id like to point out that I did say he was the most impressive of the first team players in the reserve game on bank holiday a few weeks back ;)
 
To be fair, he looks like he is improving the more he plays. The problem for him this season is that he has been thrown straight in when we've had injuries and then dropped the next game. This is the first time he has had a run of games and he's been our best defender.

Given the fact that O'Shea and Brown are pretty much finished and Vergini will be going back to Argentina, we must go all out to sign Coates because we could do a lot worse and it's a case of needs must.

Think he will be too expensive for us
 
Two big tests for him coming up, I'm sure we'll play backs to the wall which suits his play style. If we stay up and he's even acceptable against Arsenal and Chelsea we have to make a move for him in the summer. Been very good in this run.

I just thought he looked slow, prone to mistakes, his decision making was poor as was his reading if the game.

The last few games however he's looked very solid and tidy. Reminds me a poor mans John Terry, nothing he has done has been outstanding but he seems to be in the right place more often than not to stop the opposition without any fuss.
 
Fantastic game today. Won everything in the air and I can't remember him making any howlers.
