Clarkson’s farm

A very clever piece of casting by Amazon. She was already big on TikTok so there is no way she way just a random farmer who Charlie knew.
A lot of fans fail to realise how much of what Clarkson does is manufactured. The "what are the chances" bits in Top Gear, Grand Tour etc, all scripted & played out. I would guess as the formula worked for those programmes, his farmer stuff is just as fake. I can't stand the bloke but each to their own...

Of course a lot of it it manufactured - but so is most of "reality" TV and he and his production team do it so well. But once you get beyond the cocking around in tractors (instead of cars) then there is some serious and educational content about the reality of farming today. This has done more for the public awareness of the challenges of farming that Countryfile has in decades.

Maybe so but it's to his agenda & notions. I've got mates who farm, 1 who no longer owns but still helps thinks the sun shines out of JC's butt, another who's very much hands on can't stand him. I've not watched it but I've seen him railing against council decisions, H & S, & IHT. He's an affable millionaire hobby farmer, if you like him...

I suppose a programme with him praising local councils and saying how important H&S was wouldn't make such good TV.

It's a TV production so H&S and the compliance lawyers will be all over it. They won't be doing anything illegal.

Of course it's scripted -top gear was scripted entirely by Clarkson. He refused to accept an award in the US for best unscripted foreign show because he couldn't believe they didn't understand every episode was scripted. Top Gear was the biggest show on the planet -The man's a genius.

I thought they did accept the Emmy in 2005 (a producer actually accepted the award IIRC), then Clarkson made a joke of it when the presenters each gave their excuses why they hadn't attended on the following show by saying he was "busy writing the next script"
