Clarkson’s farm

Watched all available episodes tonight. Superb if a little heartbreaking.

Terribly sad news about Gerald and the scenes with the dying pigs were upsetting.

Clarkson is a changed man. I’ve always liked him even though I accept he was a knacker.

I think he has changed for the better.

Let’s hope DS gets some better news soon.

You can get 24 bottles for £42 on the website but not sure if that includes delivery. £1.75 per bottle seems ok.

Wonder why they’ve staggered the episodes, cant be a server load concern.

Why did his restaurant/shop get closed by the council?
They basically want him to farm the land and nothing more. No diversification as farmers have been told to do and no impact on the local community.

Ironically Jeremy assembled a group of local farmers who could all work together and mutually benefit from operating the restaurant and help grow the local economy.

It is apparent the council have a grievance against him.

I watched season 2 again in preparation for this, just a whole host of contradictions.

Authorities, ‘Farmers need to diversify’

Clarkson, ‘I’ll open a shop’

Authorities, ‘Well, alright but only if you sell local stuff, and the roof is a certain way etc’

Clarkson *fixes roof* ‘the shop is successful’

Authorities ‘we don’t like the traffic though, and they’re parking on the verges’

Clarkson ‘can I build a car park then?’

Authorities, ‘no, in actual fact now we don’t want you here’

Was pretty baffling
