I do think there's a bit more to Ponting playing for Surrey this summer like, seems a little odd he's decided to play county cricket at age 38 during Ashes year.

Keeping his eye in I think..
 
Ponting wont play again for Australia. Confirmed that on Sky last week.

He also has WI 20/20 commitments after his Surrey spell.
 
eerrrrm Has anyone seen the result to today? Looks like he might have to play with a bad back like if they post 65 and and get by 200odd runs mind.:shock:

I agree with the poster above, its no coincidence he has signed up for Surrey for two months at 38.

They must of had reservations about Clarke's back for a while.
