Christian Eriksen

I’ve felt a bit uneasy watching games in which he was playing after the first collapse. Surely it’s time to consider coaching, punditry or just time off with family now. Absolute quality player though.
 

I was playing in a walking football tournament a few months back and a bloke had collapsed on the side of the pitch. I'd only just done a first aid course and thought I'd have to put the training into practice. I glanced around to check if anyone else had seen what was going and when I looked back he was sitting upright looking a little out of it. Turns out he'd had a heart attack not long before and had a defib fitted which had kicked in like Eriksen's. Amazing to see and I don't think an ambulance was called, he ended up just watching the rest of the games! Saw him again the next month kitted out to play!
 
Just been reading about these with the thought that there's be some sort of limit the body can take to the shocks they give out, but it sounds like this was essentially a known possibility and it's sort of the whole point of them.

So as long as his condition hasn't actually gotten worse, he wouldn't need to stop playing, it's just be weather football clubs are happy to put up with the chance of him having it happen while playing, and clearly his clubs so far have been

Sometimes an outsider or a governing body has to step in and say no . He’s achieved so much in football and has so much of his life to live that even if there is the slightest risk , I can not understand his desire to play on .
 
I think for the good of himself and his young family he needs to call it a day

He absolutely still has a huge role to play in football though. Tom Lockyer does a lot of work around raising awareness for heart problems and CPR training etc - but Lockyer is only well known in the UK. Eriksen with his reach can take that message global.

Lockyer's playing again isn't he at Bristol Rovers?
