Been a lot of chat about England potentially using an all-rounder at 7 in tests, with Rashid, Broad and Bresnan being mentioned. I just wonder if the selectors are looking at this lad. A run-a-ball 129 today against Somerset and he took 3 of their top 5 later in the day. Certainly not first first-class hundred and he's already taken England over the line with his batting in a T20 international and took 6 wickets in only his 2nd ODI.

Seems like a great prospect for me.

Lacks a bit of zip as a bowler at the moment unless hes come on in the last few months. I agree hes a great prospect - bowls well with the new ball, has a great eye with the bat and looks mentally strong.

Yeah that's the only thing that would concern me, that lack of an extra yard of pace. Hopefully he can add it to his game or maybe master the tools he already has. I've certainly got high hopes for him and I suspect we'll see a bit of him in the limited overs side this year.

Plenty of good young seamers coming through for England at the moment, only problem is they are all quite similar. No-one who bowls express pace like Steyn or Lee, and no-one who can produce very awkward and steep bounce like a Morkel or even Harmison. Still, a very promising pool for the selectors to pick from.
