Chris Rigg

Just on watching the extended highlights, and I remember something I wanted to mention. In the first half, they had a break away, I think it was Hall who ended up getting the ball in our inside left position - Rigg ran 100 yards flat out just to close him down, and when Hall got the ball he had to cross first time, which we defended.
If Rigg hadn't made that effort, Hall would have had 3-4 touches to get right in behind and pick his spot - just like Enzo did for the winner.

Basically a goal saving bit of work, that goes somewhat un-noticed. Top stuff.

Maybe that could be his position, that right midfield role. He seems a clever lad, fast learner etc. the more he plays there the better he'll get.
I think there's a bit of Phil Foden about him tbh, he's just got great touch and balance, needs to gain a bit of strength on the ball but that will come without a doubt, if he's still growing it's difficult to target specific areas because his body is developing all the time on it's own, by the time he's 20-21 he'll be a real force in our team/squad, he's already got the personality he's not phased by anything and seems a real part of everything even when not getting minutes, obviously has a great attitude too.

His best game in the premier league, struggling to think of many better games hes had for the lads none from RW spring to mind

Really good yesterday. Probably his best game in the EPL. What a time to have to have it as well. As has been mentioned already, his work rate was excellent. Goes to show the effect of having that mentality across the whole team and squad. It's probably an underrated attribute to focusing in on that as an attribute in the new signings in that it helps instill the ethic in the squad as a whole, especially the younger players.

The other thing I really liked is how composed he was and how assured his touch was. Meant he always had his head up. Geertruida was also very good at that and together it was why so much of our play came down that right flank.

In the long run I still feel he will be best suited to a no.10 role given his attributes, perhaps even a no.8 role, but mastering those positions at the top level will take longer since so much of it is about the positions you take up off the ball. Playing those positions in a league like the EPL with the physicality, organisation and tempo it has means it'll just need more time. In the long run however he could be a massive difference maker in those positions.

To think he is 18 just now and making the sort of contribution he did on Sunday is just nuts. It's so exciting to think about what we could be like for years to come with how many we have that are already looking good at 20-22 (Talbi, Sadiki, Roefs etc) where their room to become even better is massive.
