Chris Rigg

I imagine Rigg will have a release clause in his contract. For argument sake say he is on £10k per week - you'd assume release clause will be commensurate - it might be much lower than people think - £10m might not be that wide of the mark.

Why would he have a clause?

He can still move on via tribunal until 23

There is zero need to have a clause in his contract 🤣

Maybe I've missed something significant but he signed a 3 year pro-contract in the summer?

And he can run down that contract like any other player and move for a likely smaller fee

So he doesn't need a clause as he can move on very easily if we turn down bids

Yes but not for a few years. For discussion sake - put yourself in Riggs shoes for a moment. Say Chelsea offer £15m in the summer and a 7 year contract starting on £75k a week and we say no thanks - he would be mad not to be extremely interested but if he has no buyout clause he has boxed himself into a corner.

He would never get a start at Chelsea, or any other big club, mebbe a few sub appearances if he's lucky,

Or go out on loan for a couple of years...

Or just stay here where he is developing his game, getting lots of playing time and is in the England setup. At his age, money is unlikely to be a major consideration.

They can't

5 year max from now on. He's not even out biggest prospect man. If anyone would have a clause it would be jobe.

His clause would have been widely reported when he signed the contract it wasn't. Rigg wouldn't want it secret would he and agents don't act with morals. There's no clause

Archie Gray was sole for 40 million, hes a year older than Rigg, and had played bout 30-40 games at championship level when he was sold.

Rigg will have played that many by the end of the season, and is already streets ahead of Gray in terms of output
And riggs reputation that the likes of Madrid, man utd, dortmund interested. I would say 50m plus sell-on clause, then we'll talk

£75k pw, £4m per year, anyone regardless of age would be mad not to consider that. His career could end with a bad tackle at any point.
