Chris Rigg


Never sell your local spine, we should be concentrating on building a team around him, Neil, Patti and maybe Watson if he can step up. Hopefully we can add a few more good youngens as well. Buy and sell the foreign journeymen who have no real affinity to the club.

Ballard is a good player but he's 8 years older than Rigg. Rigg has so much potential.
 
If we don't get promoted, then about £40m as he will be extremely sought after by big teams.

If we do get promoted, chuck a £100m price tag on him and give him £50k per week and try and get an extra year from him and then actually get £100m for him.

Sometimes them kind of price tags are thrown around willy nilly but that eye watering figure could well be what we receive for him if we have him playing for 2 more years and he stays injury free.

He is just exceptional and currently priceless to us.

Archie Gray was 35+5, I can't imagine Riggy would be too dissimmilar; you're right though his price tag goes up several million if we get promoted and he plays well in the prem
 
Jordan Henderson at the same age as Chris rigg is now was nowhere near his talent and ability. That's not having a go at Jordon it's how much Sunderland football club has an unbelievable talent on their hands

Another great thing about that goal that many people haven't picked up on.

First the tackle, then the run and pass by Mayenda and the finish by Mundle, but also the fact that Hume has sprinted 60 yards up the pitch to tap the ball in if the keeper parries it across the goal. Brilliant to see.
 
The kid is going to the top and there’s no two ways about it.

We might get another year out of him if we go up. If we don’t, he’s away and I’ll be shocked if it’s to a ‘stepping stone club’ in the 4-12th bracket in the PL.

I think the lad is another level to what we have produced in past. I think he is similar to henderson in sense he will call out and question older pros like someone lot older and earned their respect for the graft and application they put in.
But in terms of ability , vision , range of passing and attacking threat i really think he is level above Hendo.
Absolute need enjoy the lad while with us and hope we can get to prem while he here but either way he going all way to top and has to be our record sale if does leave
