Chris Rigg

It sounds like I'm getting carried away but he could easily be the best player we've ever produced imo. He looks sensational and he's only a bairn. I'd be amazed if he didn't go on to do what Henderson has done, barring him hitting a load of injuries. He has it all.
I agree. If Leeds got 40m for Gray. That's the benchmark.

You know what I love even more than his silky skills? His enthusiasm!

You can just tell that he bloody loves to play football and wants to win every challenge and every game.

The talent is impressive enough but the aggression, confidence and fearlessness is something that you see in only the very best talents.

At Sunderland, in my time going, I’ve seen three who have had that who’ve come through our books. Bridges, Pickford and now Rigg. Sadly Bridges was beset by injury but would have gone to the very top, Pickford has established himself as the country’s number one and I think Rigg has a real chance.

Incredible skill on the ball and likes a tackle. He’ll get goals too.a standout player in this division already and incredible to think there’s more to come…..
Credit to whoever it was who convinced him to stay and sign….

So if Lisa’s kid at Birmingham is worth 15 million then reasonable release clause in his contract has to be 150 million

Nah rigg will be shit in Goal man!

He’s going to the top without doubt

Our academy has produced some cracking players over the years. We’ve got a couple more that look good in there also but Rigg is just way ahead of any 17 year olds you see.

I think you're probably right. Unless he's hit his peak early then he's probably the best. It's difficult to compare to Henderson as he developed in the Premier League, but I think Rigg is more than capable of surpassing Henderson in ability.

Injuries play their part too, of course. Bridges looked the part but got a bad injury, same with Brady.

Biggest worry for me would be the fact that he’s only got two years left at the end of this season.

If he keeps playing like he is the interest is going to be crazy.

If he shows signs he won’t sign a new contract we’ve already shown we won’t let our best players run their contract down

He already has surpassed him I think
