Chris Rigg interview on his half century

Almost said, when referring to Mowbray, "if it wasn't for him I....probably wouldn't be here" before catching himself just in time and saying "I....probably wouldn't have these pictures on the table" (or something similar).

It sounded edited so wouldn't be surprised if he did say the above initially and the club asked for it to be removed/re-shot.

That was on the Sky broadcast on Friday anyway, not sure if the above video has been edited again since.

Star man

Be brilliant too see just how far he goes in the game

Him and Jobe together in the main England team would be a proud moment for SAFC even if they have moved on

Hope he and Jobe go right to the top and they don’t forget the chance that we gave them

The lad is class already and he’s only going to get better.

RLB plays Neil and Jobe 90 every week though so with le fee needing to play centrally I think he’s going to miss out on a lot of football coming up and when he does play it could likely be filling in out wide. That’s the reality of bringing in someone like le fee it pushes others down the pecking order.

Rigg has been ran into the ground this season anyway, largely due to the injury issues we've had.

It'll be no harm at all for him to be used more sparingly in the second half of the season.

It does, but it’ll benefit him in the long run playing and watching someone like le fee.
I think they are similar players but le fee edges it at the minute.

Whoever is good enough to play plays. No issue with that at all

It'll do Rigg the world of good in the long run nit being expected to be in the starting 11 every week and playing 90mins every week from now till may

There's bound to be injuries and suspensions which will bring him back into the starting 11,
but for the next few weeks we need to start Jobe , Niel and Le Fee as midfield 3..

Roberts and Auchiche out wide until mundle or watson is back. Or even put Rigg out wide as a stop gap.

But if we're signing a £20million pound player we need to be playing him in his most effective position, which isn't out wide just to accommodate Rigg. It's harmful to both players and to the team

Unbelievable talaent, Great start to his career and a great prospect but i wouldn’t be playing him for the sake of it. At this moment in time i think he could do with a spell being a impact sub. Definitely think his performance level has dropped, Just think with the signing of Le Fee and Mundle coming back from injury and with hopefully another brilliant forward signing he doesn’t automatically just get into our starting 11

That alone is a victory for Sunderland & you know the Newcastle/England supporters will know that every time England plays which puts a smile on my face. The boos when they play at Scum Park during league play regardless what team they play for will be music to my ears…

Aye because Mowbray gave him his debut. Looking far too into it.
