It's the not heating the rice that causes a problem

I've been told this many times but have never met anyone who actually had trouble from reheating rice.
It's a problem when you let rice go cold and then just warm it up without heating it thoroughly to kill the bacteria. You would be just helping the bacteria breed. Get it piping hot and it will be fine.

It’s not reheating it that’s the problem it’s when it’s left out after cooking for long periods in a warm kitchen , if you put it straight in the fridge once cool and reheat til piping hot the risks are negligible.
The problem with fried rice is that it has to be boiled first and cooled and then fried. You can imagine that take-aways would boil up a stock of rice in advance before frying it perhaps some hours later. You would think that any unused pre-cooked rice would be chucked away after a couple of hours - well perhaps some places do. Re-heating and eating rice that you don't know the cooking and storage history of is taking a risk.
