Yes I think applying the same % for Champions League as Conference is ridiculous.
Massively more money to be made in Champions League v potential losses in the conference.
This needs to be addressed.

I don’t think that’s the key point I think it’s SCR rules if 80% of total revenue or something.

Everyone had to live within the means of that. Not sure if it’s what you are suggesting but Chelsea can’t just turn round and say well we should be able to run 90% SCR costs if we are crap and therefore only make the Confefence League.

For us too
We’re in a different position to Chelsea though.

They’ve already fucked it & had transfer bans, sold hotels to themselves, put people on 8 year contracts & all sorts to try & keep within rules.

We’ve had one season of decent spending off the back of a tightly ran financial ship & will undoubtedly be turning the screw to make sure annual turnover is way higher year on year. For the next few years, being in the Premier League will only go in one direction money wise.

No,
I'm pointing out that a team in the Champions League will make many £millions more than a team in the Conference League, yet they are both penalised the same 15% less spend than teams in neither.

It is the whole reason why Conference is not attractive.

However, the point lost on most is that despite going to 70% of turnover, we could still have more to spend next year if we make more money via Europe etc.

I’m not interested in Chelsea or their dealings.

Just hope their underachieving players don't turn up, hear the atmosphere and think wow, let's upset this lot.
Hopefully Palmer is still sulking from his WC exclusion, and the many others in the team are more concerned with staying uninjured with the WC looming like Fernandez, Pedro, etc.
They were nowt special down there when we turned them over so if all of our 11 "turn up", we could well be ok.

Liverpool could be the one that fucks it up for us as I think Brentford will do them whilst I fully expect Brighton to get at least a draw home to Man United.

Pedro isn't in the Brazil squad

So the general consensus of opinion amongst the Chelsea fans appears to be big game (which we'll win) this weekend, they've done what they had to do on Tuesday so they'll down tools now. There seems to be no desire for the Conference League amongst their fanbase.... we'll see 👀 😏 😉 🤪

"It's only Sunderland ffs, they are always utter toilet. We will mercilessly destroy them at their tinpot ground, then celebrate in style down Newcastle Quayside, champagne and mojitos on me gents."

Chelsea won’t have any interest being in the conference league it’s a very low level tournament which they were in once and won, it reduces the money you have to spend on players and is hectic around playing league games. In their situation having a year without Europe like United did this year seems the right time. For us things are completely different and it would be utterly amazing to qualify for Europe from the league position for the first time.

That is true. But will that be in Cole Palmer or Joao Pedro's mind mid game? It's more of a worry for a sporting director or owner.

They probably don't need it next season. They need a reset and build a stabilising squad and Europe isn't gonna help them with that. Look how far man united have came without the extra games
