It’s a 15% difference. Not sure what Chelsea’s turnover is, but I’m guessing 15% isn’t a small amount.

Just done a bit AI-ing & it’s suggesting their turnerover is knocking on £500m. So £75m spend difference. They apparently make £2m a match.

All the numbers could be bollocks, but if they’re anywhere near accurate it’s 35+ matches worth

If they qualify at all don’t the restrictions they agreed with UEFA kick in and they will be effectively banned for 27/28?

I read something ages ago that unless they sell a ton this summer and qualify they are likely to fail the test which means then a ban. If so would they trade that for just conference league?

Take the long term view, it’s worth it.
 
Have Chelsea got a suspended transfer ban from uefa or am I imagining things? If so I’d imagine europa or conference would be net negative in their spending position.

Ah, soz. Thought you were talking about them.

I get the impression Chelsea are stretched regardless, where we possibly have wiggle room. I wouldn’t even say it’s worth it for us, it’s necessary if we want to progress. This cannot be the limit of our capabilities

If they qualify for a European competition then my understanding is they have to meet the requirements of a specific agreement they have with UEFA that’s it’s very difficult for them to achieve.

If they fail they get a ban in subsequent years. Might be wrong but if so you assume they would only take that for something like champions league or maybe rather miss out entirely

Aye my understanding is for Chelsea it’s champs or it’s sanctions I.e: better to miss out all together.

If I’m off the mark I’m happy to be put reet

Yes I think applying the same % for Champions League as Conference is ridiculous.
Massively more money to be made in Champions League v potential losses in the conference.
This needs to be addressed.
