He literally hasn’t. Have you even read the explanation? Of course you haven’t.

Newcastle have demanded a full allocation of away tickets. Given the policing costs associated with it what did you expect them to do? Force the club to make a loss just so you can pay £3? Get real.

Why should the fans have to cover the policing costs ?

The pricing for me is totally academic. I take exception to the fact that they will have fans present. I honestly expected SAFC to raise doubts with the police, police to agree, and away fans to then be banned as otherwise public safety could be put at risk. Look at the calibre of people who turned out at Vale Park in the Stoke end, toilet cubicles smashed, windows put out, flares hoyed onto the pitch, children terrified ..... these kind of games have a history of trouble.
Sadly at the stoke game, they misjudged the policing and under policed and stewarded. Our owners are being very astute and putting extra safety precautions in place. We can’t ban away fans, only the council can ( on the advice of the police and club) as far as I’m aware.

Wasn’t it a full scale operation from Staffordshire police with even a police drone circulating the stadium ?

Because the fans literally fund the club.

They are associated costs with hosting the game though.

There isn't any business, sporting event, or event promoter generally who wouldn't set ticket prices to cover the costs of putting the event on.

Why would the club run the night at a loss? Or why would any fan want them to?

It’s a f***ing ridiculous argument. Honestly some people on here need their heads testing

I wouldn't want away fans banned. Just want the police to have sufficient numbers to cope and to do their f***ing job. Honestly, most mags won't be causing bother, it'll be mainly the 15-20 year old bellend brigade and if we need to ban away fans because the police can't cope with those little fannies then god help them if they ever need to deal with serious disorder

Tbf Port Vale fans probably thought the same ....

Its a one off game really. The club isn't going to go tits up on the back of this game

My brother was there and said it was really poorly policed. Did the drone have a water cannon mounted to it?
Surprised at that was reading an article that the police were on top of it before hand. Even banning Stoke fans from all the pubs in Burslem town centre

Be pretty bad in terms of trouble I reckon, thy'll be dying for a crack at us as most Sunderland wont be up for it. Perfect pisstaking opportunity for them.
Well lets make sure we are up for it then. My stomach turns at the thought of 5000 of them scruffy fuckers taking the piss all day. Its easy to stop that happening.Turn out in force and treat it like any other match.

Because that’s what gate money is for. We’re f***ing skint mate. No sky money to subsidise shit these days. No billionaire septic to cover it. This is it for the foreseeable future.

We're not skint to be fair.
