He has stated in previous posts when he started following the club.

And I think more experienced Sunderland supporters wouldn’t consider this Checkatrade under 21 farce as a proper derby in all honesty. So whilst I agree with you generally, on this occasion I think it possibly does
I know loads of people who supported the club for decades and still spout utter shite at every opportunity

Do you genuinely believe that this price increase has solely been made to cover those extra costs? Particularly given what our owners have said about maximising income previously?

It makes financial sense to do it. I get that. I just don’t think it’s particularly fair or just
yes

I believe that the mags have to pay for the allocation if they ask for it, so we win regardless then

I mean their allocation won’t be 5000. The rules say they get 10% of the amount of available tickets. If there’s already 2 stands and the premier concourse closed then the amount available is much less (15k-20k?) so should only be 10% of that. Plus I don’t think the police would allow 5k anyway.

Nonsense. I paid £10 full whack last time round having missed the early bird deadline. This is the same competition. We made 9 changes. The quality was dire. We are playing an under 21 team in this round. These ticket prices represent a 500% increase, it’s shocking and it is our owners milking a cash cow.

Had Short been in charge and done this there’d be very few supporting the decision. However, barely any decision can be criticised with the current regime.
I fully support the price as it supports the club. The club we could have lost, because of the shoddy management of money. These fellas have came in & tried to do it sensibly. You might say 500%, I say £12. You’d struggle to get 3 pints in most pubs in the town for that.
