Ched Evans...

Decent enough player but just asking for shite. I know the lad wasn't guilty but sadly shit sticks and I'm not sure the club would risk the possible backlash.

I can absolutely guarantee I won’t.

There are enough players available without his history or baggage that we could take a punt on. Our club has had enough of these types of characters in recent years.

If people are comfortable with the signing, that is up to them and I won’t criticise them but I wouldn’t be able to go while he was there.

I don’t think our owners and manager would go down this avenue anyway.

What? Go down the avenue of employing a wrongly accuses man who was later found innocent?

He scored 6 in his first 10 games. Then didn't score for another 7. After that, 4 in 8 games.

He's been ok, not prolific. Better than Wyke I suppose.

Looking at his shot count looks like he's been starved of chances

He's morally a shithouse. Unfaithful to his wife. Terrible thing to do to her.
So too Bobby Moore, Bobby Robson, Rooney, Ashley Cole, David Beckham and countless other footballers.
Like Evans, none of them broke the law.
Unlike the likes of Mickey Quinn, George Best, Tony Adams and countless other footballers.
If you are looking for morals I'd stop following football.
Evans has a decent record. He's better than Will Grigg.

This.

There will have been countless other footballers doing the same kind of thing as Evans, maybe even at our club. It's just he got arrested for it.
That doesn't make it ok for one second, but the culture of going on like a bell was absolutely rife a few year back.
Around the same time at our club we saw arrests for Cattermole, Bendtner (both criminal damage - cleared?) and Bramble (no charge IIRC). All centre around pairs/groups of lads and alcohol/nights out.

I do think there has been a shift away from things like this in recent years. These were all 2011/2012 I think.

He's been found not guilty. If he's up to the job and we can hack the attention get him in.
If it's too much hassle - which it might be, we shouldn't bother.

Guilty or not guilty, the blokes brings negative baggage with him that we don't need any more of. Shame, cos the kid can play but its a no from me.

I agree 100% marra, I know I'm acting like a NIMBY over my club and it's wrong but I just don't want us to get stick for giving him a chance. I honestly apologise to Evans and anyone who may have been wrongly accused of rape, as I say I know it's wrong but it's how I feel about my club.

players like patrick klivurt, courtney meppen walters, lee hughes and marcos alonso all killed people while driving but still continued their careers. YET a person who was found not guilty despite his poor behavior 10 years ago can not carry on and have a successful career. Makes complete sense to me.
