I totally agree mate, I don’t want him here either if given the choice. But he might a Sunderland player come tomorrow, so what do we do, boo him every time he scores? It’s a shit situation all round if it does happen.

I would assume so. The media had a circus over di Canio, we might not be in the Premier League anymore but this would be worse. Our season is at risk of going off the rails, and the last thing we need is a media circus, scandal, distractions and the potential for stirring up disunity.
 
I really don’t believe we are after Evans tbh. I fully expect the story to be rubbished pretty quickly.

FWIW though, I’d really struggle to support the club’s decision if we did sign him. The new owners have done a great job so far, but this would be a large step backwards. I know people will argue he has done his time etc, but he is simply not someone I want as a role model at the club.
