Safety in numbers eh.You’ll find that diddleywhacks tend to act up in big numbers, something Boro haven’t got.
Sounds rather interesting the format having read it for the first time ever. Of course if we win we get 3 pts and if we lose we get nothing. But in addition to the point awarded for a draw the game will go straight to a penalty shoot-out and if we win we get a bonus point. Regarding the Invited Club we will have home advantage as all the U21 sides can't play at home. Under section 5 Part 6 of the rules on the EFL website "(vi) Invited Clubs will be the Away Club in each Match in the Group Stage (unless otherwise determined by the League)". As an incentive to win Group A in the Round of 32 we will have the runner-up of another group and will be at home. Then in the Round of 16 the winning teams are in a draw again on a regional basis so no worries facing Chelsea U21's for example. The QF and SF sees a draw for all clubs in all regions and if scores are level they don't muck about with Extra Time. They go straight to penalties.
We could do OK if we get over this bad patch in preseason and get our act together.
Proud winners of this superb tournament.Zenith Data Systems Trophy?
They don't stop the reserves playing or the youth games so why stop this if it happened?. Its not a high profile game is it really its our U23s for gods sake
I lived and worked in Heysham. Nice little ground but parking is a huge problem. The Shrimps announcer is a local dj called Steve Middlesbrough ( I kid you not!) . He nicked my copy of Dance of The Knights and that is what they run out to.I work in Lancaster and have worked in Morecambe. They are only about 3 miles apart and have good bus links. The train is a bit inconsistent lately - Northern Rail - say no more.
Morecambe’s ground is out of the town centre a little and close to the West End of Morecambe which is quite rough in parts. The Ground itself isn’t particularly near Morecambe railway station and isn’t well served by buses.
Some canny bars in the main part of Morecambe. I’ve never had any bother. The Chieftain, Palatine, Joiners Arms.
Both places have Premier Inn or Travelodges.
