We don't need to replace him, we need an additional striker who can also score 30 goals a season and one who plays a bit differently to how Wyke plays, that way we have options to change things during games.

Wyke is very limited/one dimensional, but he got 30 goals with it so it clearly works, and I don't deny that he was really frustrating to watch towards the end of the season, but don't chuck the baby out with the bathwater FFS.

It's like as a group of fans we want to punish players for not being good enough or just be really extreme in our reactions to situations.

I can't think of many clubs whose fans would be keen to offload a 30 goal striker from a team that doesn't score many!

Blimey. The record scorer in League One in a season got 35 goals (Jordan Rhodes), but you think Wyke should have scored 45?
That’s exactly my opinion . The lad has many limitations but he does the hardest thing in football , scoring goals . Instead of getting rid , buy someone different to compete with him for the position so we can change the way we play and not be so one dimensional.

Maja did then we sold him for a pack of baccy
maja did very well for his half a season yes..
we sold him for more than we would get for wyke...
Because it was in the championship
what was? mcgeady has playedseveral seasons down here with us now..o brien grigg and graham are just three of the people who couldnt score from mcgeadys supply..and thats not a criticsm of mcgeady

He’s so easy to play against yet he scores a hatful of goals . What’s the point of football again? 🤷‍♂️

That’s why he was playing in the premiership last year not league 1.

The point of football is to get 3 points win and get promoted personal achievements are irrelevant to the success of the club

Do you think wyke is good at football simple question

wyke is not technically brilliant at football but he is very effectivewhen played in he right position, something which safc only did this season.

I give up mate , it’s like arguing with a drunk I’ll never win . I look forward to a lot of posters admitting they were wrong next season . Enjoy your day !!

He scored goals last season but it was a year where you couldn’t do anything off the field and the games on the field had no tempo.

The games will be played with a lot more intensity next year and my main concern would be that he’s not going to be able to do it when he’s rushed and there’s opposition fans on his back. I don’t think it’s a coincidence he’s crap for 2 years then good behind closed doors.

Can you stop with this full season crap he’s had two year for us and didn’t do anything. I have abit of sympathy for him when he joined as he got wiped out down Burton by their keeper but second half of the season he couldn’t deliver under pressure.

19/20 year he was poor and I think 90% of the board agreed Lafferty looked more dangerous in one start against Gillingham than Wyke had in those two years.

Football has been unrecognisable behind closed doors with the lack of tempo in games, teams just sitting off etc and he’s benefitted imo. He’s earned a decent contract somewhere else and we move on. Both parties are happy because we should question the circumstances behind him actually doing well for us. I wouldn’t make an effort to keep him.

the pelters lafferty goton here were amazing..though hehas had a much better career probably than wyke will have had.
wyke has only played one full season for us..last year wasnya full season-and he was played out of position...there is no such posiiton as "striker", and wyke wasplayed with his back to goal, a role which he has no ability toplay that role..this season he was played as a poacher and got the goals.

Lafferty got pelters after the Bristol game because he got rattled by their fans/players and had to be subbed at HT before he was sent off.

I don’t think Parkinson played him with his back to goal, our sole focus was getting crosses into the box & Jack Ross used to always bang on about getting crosses into the box too. He had that press conference where he counted them up and reckoned we played class as we crossed 30+ balls into the box

That’s because maja is in a totally different class to wyke and it isnt even close

Still should have kept him till end of the season

If any club have put 30 crosses into a box then they’ve played well. Problem is we will have had only one player in that box to get on the end of them. Cattermole, Honeyman etc were all too similar style of player, we got rid of em to save money then added even more cheaper defensive plodders in Power, Scowen, Winchester, Grant etc.

Laffertys twice the player Wyke is. If he’d been upfront for us last season we’d be looking forward to the championship reet now.

if honeyman is a simialr style of player to cattermole someone is playing in the wrong position! honeyman is more an attacking player catts more a defensive one..though catts level of ability is such that he could playmore attacking at shit league one level.
people on here brayed and bellowed that lafferty was shite and cheap..

I’m obviously talking in the context of getting into the oppositions box when we are attacking. Read my post again. A six year old would realise that. I believe you do as well.
Your obsession with deliberately getting hold of the wrong end of the stick to derail threads is almost perverse. There’s an agenda at play surely? Attempting to muddy the waters of recent safc history perhaps?
