Southampton are my favourites to win it. A talented core of players and they'll get good money for Lavia and Ward-Prowse. If they keep Alcaraz and Sulemana then they''ll be stand out players in the league

Does Tella also play for them? In any case I think they will win it.

I think I read somewhere that Leicester’s wage bill was absolutely massive.

I’m not sure what that means in terms of what money they can spend, they could be pretty much fucked.
Up to 10 senior players leaving or available for transfer, from one site I read .

When we went down from the Champ last time it was ridiculous.

Villa spent nearly 20 million on a fat 29 year-old Ross McCormack. Clubs like Derby and Sheff Wed all blew bucketloads too.

It will be stronger than last year but it feels like every second team is under an embargo, threatened with deductions, or putting out expectation managing statements like West Brom have

Where has this big budget come from after 2 years in league 1
Aye

Boro spent 55m
Reading 15m
Sheff wed 15m
Fulham 20m
Leeds 30m
Norwich 15m
Derby 10m
Brentford 11m
Cardiff 13m
Barnsley 7m
Wolves 25m
Bristol City 13m
Birmingham 18m

We spent 1.4m

If by September 1st, when we've bought and sold players and played a few games, if we are worried about the other teams then I'll be concerned. Until then my chins up - both of them.

If the relegated teams are organised and invest the parachute money wisely they start with a big advantage. I don’t expect Norwich to be as poor and the clubs that were knocking on the door last season will more than likely be competitive again (Millwall, Blackburn, Coventry, Boro and hopefully us).

I also wouldn’t rule out Ipswich or Plymouth starting like a house on fire building on the momentum from the season just finished.

Picking the top 2 is so difficult- depends on loads of factors. Budget not necessarily the deciding factor either.
Think Southampton might be ahead of Leicester and Leeds ironically even though they were first relegated.
Can see Preston, Cardiff, Rotherham and QPR struggling a bit, possibly Sheffield wed and Blackburn too but every game is tough looking.
Safc currently has a very positive vibe and a good start would really help. Can’t wait for pre season personally.

I think Southampton and Leicester have the top 2 pretty much boxed off.
Fair enough- I Think Leicester are going to be in disarray - will have to massively reduce the wage bill but have some very sellable assets - depends what they are left with and how much they can reinvest and who gets the managers job I suppose- they’ve been woeful in goal and defensively imo.

This must be the strongest championship of all time.

Doubt it.

Last year, I honestly thought it was shite. There is no way a team like ours should have been able to squeak play-offs. Yes, Mowbray and the lads showed tremendous character and skill, but it doesn’t scream strong League to me.

And Luton. 3rd? I’d hardly put them at the level of our first Quinn-Phillips year, when we lost to Charlton?

Weak league. Even if you think the teams coming down are good - I’m not sure I do, Leicester and Southampton are a mess, Leeds haven’t got a clue how they want to play - then there’s a lot of ground to make up.

I actually think the league is weaker. I can’t see two teams being like Burnley and Sheffield United. Potentially Boro could be like the latter. Leeds have the player profile to be like Burnley, but they have no direction. Nobody coming up is as good as we were.

Nope.
