Champions Trophy 2025

I'm sure the Pakistan Super League (which started before the IPL) never actually overlapped with County cricket. This meant there was always a large English contingent most years.

Until the IPL decided to move and clash directly with the PSL that is. This meant the PSL had to be pushed back in the calendar and started to overlap County cricket. Reducing the English players who could do both.

So let me get this right, the ECB have now decided that the few players that could do both, can't anymore as they won't be issued NOC's? They want to preserve the county game. Yeah right

But NOC's for the IPL clashing with CC is okay? Rampant hypocrisy.

It's taken the PCA to bring this matter to the media.

It's as if there is a concerted effort to destroy Pakistan Cricket by India and the ECB aren't now just bystanders anymore, the are active participants.

It makes me sick. Bootlicking kernts. Even the BBC can't come out and deride them the money grabbing wankers. Political tensions. Fuck right off.

To some I may come across as speaking in hyperbole. But I believe we are near the end times. For cricket and society in general.

When nothing gets said to pure and blatant injustifces, how can any normal sane person think that is acceptable or continue to function in said society like nothing happened?

I want to say im going to abstain from watching and participating in yet another money selling soul sports event. But the country Pakistan has not done anything wrong. They haven't hosted a major cricket event since 1996. 28 years. Their crime? Being the neighbour of total kernts. To think they were all one people less than 70 years ago.

Bbci and India are done for me like. I'm not sure I will watch another game of theirs again (excerpt against us).

I truly despise them. They are one of the major reasons of the ills of today. One eyed fuckers.

The ultimate revenge for The Raj, destroying a national game? ;)

The political tensions bit is true mind. I can’t stand the bcci but I tried to imagine a situation England were involved in. They still think the Pakistani govt had some responsibility for the Mumbai attacks, whether true or not who knows….

I’d imagine England fans would be furious if we played somewhere having been attacked.

There's been political tensions between the 2 countries ever since I can remember. The Mumbai attacks just heightened those tensions. But that was over 15 years ago now.

My point is if we are waiting for tensions to die down then we might be waiting a very long time.

In the meantime, one of the biggest sporting rivalries in cricket continues to be decimated.

Don’t disagree with you at all, was just providing some context

My sentiments exactly.

I'm reminded of this documentary from a while back. 2 genuine cricket fans asking questions of the cricketing authorities about the state of cricket. What they found was corruption and rotten governance from those supposed to be in charge of cricket.

10 years on and we haven't changed. Criminals and their cronies in positions of power dictating to the rest of the cricketing world what is in the best interests of the game.
Might watch this later, 1h40mins to work out and tell us what we already know though. The ICC and BCCI are the cricketing equivalent of FIFA. Heavy suitcases anyone?

I've got a good feeling about Root and Mahmood for this tournament.

I still think Crawley would be a good white ball player. Long levers and beats the infield during the power play.

And it swings less
Yeah I'm still not overly sold on Salt as a good ODI player.

I don't really understand why we fully moved away from Roy/Bairstow ahead of the last World Cup.

But I think Crawley and Duckett would be a even better ODI opening partnership than they are in tests.

Glad Topley ain’t in it.

Glad Topley ain’t in it.
Yeah mostly been bang average for England. Fast-tracked because he bowls left-arm. Don’t think Curran can argue about his omission either.

I’d lineup like this:

Salt (wk)
Duckett
Root
Brook
Buttler (c)
Bethell
Livingstone
Carse
Rashid
Archer
Wood

Would love to sneak Smith in somehow. Maybe opening instead of Salt?
