CC :: Worcestershire v Durham

Think he batted at 3 in the seconds, this was a while back now like. Clearly focussed more on his bowling, which seems to have paid off!
I remember him scoring a ton for the seconds but he's not really brought that batting to the first team. I'm not arsed like, he'd get picked on his bowling every match and 18 is a handy batting average for a good bowler.

What an absolute wanker. Imagine taking that over and concluding in the way he has.

Stumps:

Worcestershire 169-6 (50 overs). Our lead is 411.

Potts 13-6-36-5
Rushy 11-2-60-1
Salisbury 10-4-32-0
Stokes 9-4-13-0
Trevaskis 4-1-14-0
Borthwick 3-1-4-0

Another Lou Reed for us on Day 2, Potts was unplayable in that new ball spell and although there was a period of toil when they put on a fifth wicket stand of 101, the two quick wickets before the bad light have nullified any chance of a revival from Worcestershire.

12 overs were lost at the end there, I’ve no idea what the exact criteria is but I think 8 of those overs can be made back tomorrow.

A good morning will see us enforcing the follow on, the weather for the remainder of the game is forecast to be dry, so we have 6 sessions to take 14 wickets for a maximum point victory.

Possibly the first ever mention of Lou Reed on a Durham Cricket forum....have a 'Like'.:D

I honestly have no idea what his point is. County cricket isn't broken so needs fixing?

I think I'm remembering right that colly was saying 'this lad is good enough to be an all rounder with England someday' when he was making his debut or very early appearance for Durham, either Kent or lords
He's banging the same old drum. County Cricket needs fewer top teams who get all the cash, pay the best wages and have all of the best players while all the remaining Counties can go hang.

Annie has asked him several times now to arrange a zoom call with her to interview him for County Championship Matters on his proposals and he's turned it down every time. He won't have a leg to stand on when challenged

Probably wants paying, the mercenary ****

She's a legend among county fans like

Apologies all round as never made the Ladies Pavilion today for tea and cake. Apparently it’s only open for 2 hours so I missed the boat. And after watching Stokes bat I was more in the mood for raw meat. When he came into bat one of the locals said maybe we will get to witness one of those innings where you can say well I was there. Enough said. Rushy is surprisingly struggling but that’s been counteracted by Potts becoming the lead strike bowler. Won’t be writing Rushy off for sometime yet and after all the graft he has put in especially since the FTECB enforced relegation he‘s well entitled to below par performances.

Forecast is good for tomorrow so hopefully we can roll them over early tomorrow morning and stick them straight back in. Can’t see Stokes failing to pick up a few wickets, with a mean and moody Rushy lurking in the background and Potts steaming in we should be able to forge on to victory.

What a day of sport

Btw from the guardian, I didn’t know this

“On another day Matthew Potts might have been the headliner after his five for 36 as Worcestershire’s batters wilted in response. The 23-year-old right-armer from Sunderland has added a yard of pace over the winter and, having been one of England’s standbys for the recent Caribbean tour, his third five-wicket haul this summer could see him upgraded.”

Such a busy day yesterday, meetings all morning, interviews all afternoon then a dash to the match, missed all this. Normally have it playing quietly in my office as well, typical :D

KP is a fuckwit btw

Find and sunny forecast for next 2 days. Going to be hard graft to take 14 wickets unless the track deteriorates

Unfortunately it's only he himself who doesn't realize that.

As long as he's only called up when Wood and Carse need to get some time in at Durham!

Warmest day here so far (despite what the weather app is saying), almost no breeze and hardly a cloud in the sky. Got the factor 50 on 😁
