57-1, they're scoring quite freely.
They are. After losing that early wicket, Sussex have batted nicely

Sussex are really knocking it about. Was this pitch really a putter-inner? Batting has been easy so far...

The sun is trying to shine now. Maybe he was thinking about not wanting to bat 4th on this? Could be a lot of batting in this game.
 
Haha, just realised my error! I think the only explanation for putting them in was to take advantage of the early cloud. It hasn't worked.

That's what I was getting at. We've had cloud before, we've had moisture, we've had wickets with a green tinge and it seems like very time the opposition have racked up about 380-4 by Close and then 500 by the innings end.
