CC : Leicestershire v Durham

Tell you what it's tremendous watching Durham at the moment in the county championship. I can't even begin to describe just how happy I am for Graham Clark this season, one of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet. The whole ethos is unbelievably different under this new regime and everyone is buzzing. Speaking to Durham fans today every single one of them full of positivity it's absolutely class craic. We are by no means the finished article but the progress made this year has been astonishing. The message to the players from Campbell is to enjoy and be positive and don't be afraid of making mistakes. See how we go with the ball later in this game but we should all be very excited with the progression and intentions on show.

I totally agree, but just for balance you have to say the T20 has been poor

Another terrific knock from Robbo. Raced from 50 to 100 and now only 2 runs away from his highest score of the season. 680 runs at SR 85. What an aquisition. 3 tons, 3 fifties. Thank goodness England don't need another number 5

In Robinson we trust

I really hope Clarky goes on and completes his hundred this time after missing out against Glamorgan

we have a cracking top 6 this year

He should be next in line for England

Another word for Robinson - what a tremendous player he is, he seemed a little scratchy early on today, but put the graft in to stick around and enjoyed the fruits of the early labour as the day grew longer.

He was only on 15 after 49 balls, his first 50 took 103 balls, but then his second just 40.

It must’ve been hugely frustrating for Leicestershire because they just couldn’t stop the bleeding after Tea. I’ve got a lot of sympathy for them with what has gone on this week, it must be very difficult to support them at the minute but we’ve got a job to do. We need to go on and score really big tomorrow, getting over 600 before the halfway point of Day 2 shouldn’t be out of the question - if Campbell doesn’t decide to pull out sooner that is.

England DO need a reliable gloveman who can score big and fast at 7 though :o

Spot on about Robinson started off slowly and wasn’t timing it but neither he or Clark tried to force it when Leicestershire went on the defensive and quite simply wore them down.

Just to reference England, I think misconception is they just want sloggers, they are looking for players who can go up the gears when need to, this lad can, he can dig in but has the game to catch up quick

I'm intrigued to hopefully seeing him in div 1

when you look at Billings record this year for Kent, its a big loss for them
Wouldn’t argue, but even that has been a significant improvement on last year’s woeful effort. We lack consistency, but we have at least competed in most games, and but for the intervention of the weather, could have beaten Lancs and Yorks in the last week.

Lost a lot of close games I agree, but make no mistake, listened to North a lot this year as he has been on comms and a lot of the thinking and signings were geared to improvin white ball form, it wasnt great

Im a CC fan so not too fussed, but its the major money earner in the game and still feels like we are missing out by being shite at it.

That last sentence is the truth. T20 gets beer flowing and money in the till. It’s a short format weeknight game that should be played well to retain the cash flow the club desperately needs.

I would like to substitute 'graham onions bombing down the motorway' onto the marty bingo card please
Onions as impact substitute is allowed, but who are you taking off the card? I'd be tempted to go for 'daughter on George Gently' which, as far as I've heard, hasn't got a mention this season.

i haven't seen the card for this year tbf but as it's coming up soon i'd like to add deershed festival on there. definitely had a mention this year before - it may have been mentioned against yorkshire in the t20 since it's in thirsk. i've no interest in t20 so didn't bother listening to that.

Not sure what Durham will do today. In old money ( 12 months ago) probably bat till lunch at 4 an over and take it from there. But i reckon they may want a dart at them before lunch.
so do I, assuming there is no lower order collapse. Feels as though we've been quite resiliant in that regard this year
aye same, Campbell on comms mentioned out attack a few times, they will want as many overs as possible
he seems to appear a lot on comms. Not like his invisible predecessor
