Do you go to the Sunderland games never see you on the footy forum

More idiots on there than here, much better ambience on here - better clientele

I go to a few marra, more Sunderland games than Hartlepool anyway ;)

Yea but that run chase last match was built for Scotty. I always thought he was at his best in a run chase.

I don't want to disrespect Smith but it seems there's a gaping hole at number three right now whereas the with the bowling we have options at the club, even though many of them aren't fit right now.

Burnham to come back next year - not suggesting he’s the answer, but he must be heartened that nobody has taken their chance to make it near impossible for him to return.

Oh I see what you did there;) more a cricket fan then

I’m not getting involved

Especially in a Pringle debate with Chops....that argument is about 3 year old now

I will say that in the last couple of year there’s been some canny cock ups at that club. And there’s people ‘pulling strings’ shall we say who may appear whiter than white from the outside looking in, but are not very popular within.

Now - carry on with the arguing
Couldn’t agree more tbh. A lot of “legends” and “great blokes” .... far from it in certain circumstances

Jones currently 117 not out for the 2nd xi having scored 92 in the first innings. Harte got 84 in the first innings also. Both knocking on the door of the 1st team
Got to take into consideration the bowling attacks they're currently facing against what they can expect in the first team. Taylor and Payne aren't the best in the league, yet on a flat track proved useful. Consistent line, length and varying speed kept our batsmen contained.

It’s an odd one, because our 2’s have been consistently quite good throughout the recent past - even when the First Team have struggled, the 2’s seem to have carried on regardless.

Yet it seems few of them can make the jump - especially the batsmen.

Real shame.

Every time I look at their scores that Scott Steel seems to have done something good. But he plays down the order, it gets quite crowded there for options … whereas we desperately need someone at 1,3,4 positions (assuming Latham won't be here forever)

Won't ever know until we give them a run in the side.

May as well. From what I've seen of Jones this season in the 2nds he's looked good although he struggled in the Derbyshire match in the face of some hostile bowling from Viljoen and Olivier and took a blow to the helmet in both innings.

I can see why he was replaced after that game but let's face it after the three successive defeats in the Championship the only thing we're now playing for is to avoid the wooden spoon.

Exactly. Just give them a go. League table doesn't lie
